Winifred MATTESON

Winifred MATTESON, 89, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Coudersport, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. She was born January 22, 1925, in Addison, NY. On July 4, 1942, in Coudersport, she married Alva J. "Al" Matteson, who predeceased her in 2002. Residing in Genesee since 1991, she was previously a lifelong resident of Coudersport. She was employed by Anchor Toy Factory in Coudersport, Galeton Production, and Truck-Lite in Wellsboro, PA. Winifred was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Wellsville, NY. She was a New York Yankee fan and enjoyed watching Little League baseball on TV. She was happiest when family was at her home eating spaghetti and pizza with strawberry shortcake for dessert. Surviving are: a daughter, Janice (Robert) Laubach of Mifflinburg, PA; a son, Dennis (Erma) Matteson of Genesee; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Stratton of Sierra Vista, AZ; a sister, Eleanor (Bill) Gibson of Nunda, NY; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Stratton of Dansville, NY; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by mother and step-father, Eula and Luther Stratton; and seven siblings. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM.
