Willis G. TARBOX, 84, of Chester, SC, formerly of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, June 26, 2015 in Inman, SC. Born October 21, 1930, in Ulysses, he was the son of Earl A. and Calfernia Morley Tarbox. On September 23, 1953, in Woodhull, NY, he married the former Alfreda M. Towsley, who predeceased him on October 8, 1997. A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 - 1954. A 1949 graduate of Ulysses High School, he was employed Hardinge Brothers in Elmira, NY and Duff-Norton in Charlotte, NC. Surviving are: a son, James E. Tarbox of Concord, NC; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; four sisters, Arloine Olsson of Columbus, OH, Eileen Kovach of Berwick, PA, Joanne Clarke of Newton, NC, and Joyce Jordan of Lincolnton, NC; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a a daughter, Carol Ann Gotham; and a son, Michael A. Tarbox.
