Virginia A. Segulin
SMETHPORT- Virginia A. Segulin, 90, of Route 46, passed away Friday (Jan. 6, 2017) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born August 22, 1926, in Straight Creek, PA, she was a daughter of William and Anna Gurnot Cunningham. On Sept. 26, 1953, in Smethport, she married Edward J. Segulin, who died Mar. 28, 2003. They were married 50 years.
Virginia worked at Sylvania Co. (now GTE) formerly of Emporium, before her retirement.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church of Smethport, and the Crosby Fire Hall Auxiliary.
Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Marsh of Crosby; and several nieces and nephews, one niece Debra (Fella) Wright of Smethport who was her caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward, three brothers, Charles, John, and Richard Cunningham; and a sister, Mary Bennett.
At Virginia’s request there will be no visitation. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family, in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Smethport, with Rev. Vince Cieslewicz, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Smethport.
Memorials can be made to the St. Elizabeth’s Memorial Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
