Virginia Dalton Reed
PORT ALLEGANY- Virginia Dalton Reed, 81, of Smith Ave., passed away Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2021) in her home.
Born August 18, 1940, in Alexandria, VA, she was a daughter of Harry J. and Ruth Taylor Dalton. On May 19, 2007, she married Stephen A. Reed, who died July 13, 2019.
Virginia was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1958. She studied music in Olean and Buffalo, NY. She won two partial scholarships to Temple University.
In 1958, she opened the Caktus Kid Accordion Studio.
She was owner and manager of Enchanted Mountain Advertising, for many years. She was also a talented seamstress, sold items on ebay, but most of all, she enjoyed her cats, especially “Simba”.
Virginia was sexton of the Lewis Hill Cemetery for many years, taking over the position that her mother held.
Surviving is a nephew, Robert (Gwyn) Dalton of Galena, OH, and special friends, Mark (Kandi) Goodreau of Port Allegany, and Joella A. Hadden of Rew, PA.
At Virginia’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the Lewis Hill Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
