Valerie J. KERTIS

Valerie J. KERTIS, 66, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, died Monday, January 13, 2014 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. Born September 15, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Walter and Adeline Taylor Thiers. On March 21, 1987, in Richboro, PA, she married George Kertis, Jr., who survives. She was employed as an administrative assistant by Lincoln Investments in Philadelphia. Valerie was a member of St. Bibiana Catholic Church in Galeton and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Surviving besides her husband, George, are: two brothers, Fr. Georges Thiers of Philadelphia and Gerald (Genevieve) Thiers of Langhorne, PA; an aunt, Marie Thiers of Newtown, PA; four nieces, three nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Joseph V.
