Thressa P. BURRELL

Thressa P. BURRELL, 98, of Genesee, PA, died Friday, October 7, 2011 in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. Born April 17, 1913, in Colesburg, PA, she was the daughter of Abel J. and Ethel C. Sherwood Lawton. On January 31, 1945, in Knoxville, PA, she married Walter T. Burrell, who predeceased her in 1984. She was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident. Thressa was a member of the Ellisburg Union Church and the Andrews Settlement-Ellisburg Community Club. Surviving are: a son, Joseph M. (Edna) Hallock of Bradford, PA; a daughter, Grace Prokopchuk of Wellsville, NY; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Lawton of TN; two sisters, Agnes (Clarence) Long of AL and Beatrice (Arnold) Ruhli of WA; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Thressa M. Lusk; and a grandson, Allen Mastin. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Paul M. Karges will officiate. Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
