Thomas R. HUNTER, 64, of Knoxville, PA, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the Bath VA Medical Center, Bath, NY. Born July 12, 1949, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Victor and Marie Mechen Hunter. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served honorably with the US Army from 1968 - 1970. On August 16, 2008, in Moore Hollow, Hector Township, PA, he married Marilyn Hess, who survives. A graduate of Elkhart University, he owned and operated dental ceramic laboratories in Michigan. A self-employed carpenter, he worked on construction in Florida for many years. Tom was a member of the VFW and Moose in Florida. Surviving besides his wife, Marilyn, are: three sons, Matthew (April) Hunter, Michael (Sharon) Hunter, and Ryan Hunter, all of Sarasota, FL; two granddaughters; two brothers, Joseph (Jan) Hunter and David (Debbie) Hunter, both of Detroit, MI; three step-children, Mark (Kim) Fay of Potter Brook, Debora (Ron Wendus) McCullen of Potter Brook, and Barett VanSchaick of Lawrenceville, PA; and five step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hunter. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook, PA. Rev. Duane Burdick will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Tioga County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to any animal sanctuary.
