Terrance E. Ryan
TURTLEPOINT- Terrance E. Ryan, 63, of Rock Run Rd., passed away Sunday (Nov. 6, 2011) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 3, 1948, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Earl P. and B. Pauline Safford Ryan. On Nov. 2, 1968, he married Sherry E. Tanner, who survives.
Mr. Ryan was formerly employed by Trico Industries of Bradford, Dresser Rand Co. of Olean, and most recently with Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, as a supervisor/ machinist, before retiring in 2008.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a sergeant with the US Army.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1966.
In his leisure time, he was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Surviving are two daughters, Kerry L. (Matthew) Bobenrieth of Bradford, Merry E. (Peter) Marsiglio of Turtlepoint; three granddaughters, Kassandra R. Bobenrieth, Meagan M. Ryan, Breana I. Marsiglio; and a grandson, Nickolas T. Marsiglio; three brothers, Kenneth E. (Inga) Ryan of Turtlepoint, C. Dean (Stephanie) Ryan of Annapolis, MD, Rex L. (Lucy) Ryan of Katy, TX; and a sister, Penny Jo (Steve) Thwing of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul J. Ryan, and a baby sister, Robin R. Ryan.
There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorials can be made to the McKean County Visiting Nurse’s Association, Bradford, or American Cancer Society, Bradford.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
