Sylvia A. FURMAN, 83, formerly of Ulysses and Ellisburg, PA, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. Born December 29, 1932, in Austin, PA, she was the daughter of Pete and Myrtle Goodwin McIsaac. On October 23, 1950, in Coudersport, PA, she married Wilton Edward Furman, who predeceased her in 1987. A graduate of Coudersport High School, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Ellisburg Union Church and the HUG Senior Center in Ulysses. Surviving are: three children, Betty (John) Glisson of Austin, Judith (Richard) Hemphill of Coudersport, and David (Roberta) Furman of Ellisburg, PA; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Pepper of Coudersport; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her step-father, Harold McCann; and four sisters, Vera Pekarski, Ethel Palmer, Evelyn Phillips, and Gladys Riganey. Friends may call at the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Roy Ward, Pastor, will officiate.
