Stephanie V. (Wise) Mcgarvey

PORT ALLEGANY- Stephanie V. “Stevee” McGarvey, 63, of N. Main St., passed away Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2022) in the Buffalo General Hospital.

Born December 3, 1958, in York, PA, she was a daughter of David H. and Dixie J. Mathews Wise.  On Sept. 24, 1977, in Eldred, she married Ronald V. McGarvey, who survives.

Stephanie received an associate degree as a Para legal/law assistant from Jamestown Community College, and graduated from the Continental Beauty School, in Cosmetology, both of Olean, NY.

She had worked as an insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha for several years, also worked in tech support with Adelphia Cable Co., formerly of Coudersport, and as a nurse’s aide with Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, before having to retiring.

Stephanie was a member of the Loyal of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany, social member with the American Legion, Post 258, Port Allegany, was a former past president of A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) and ran her own business, Whispering Willow Merchandise where she sold handmade jewelry, and Young Living Essential Oils.

Surviving is a son, Jason V. (Holly) McGarvey of Port Allegany; three daughters, Autumn L. (Brian) Roche of Port Allegany, Ronni N. (Todd) Roulo of Allegany, NY, Reletta G. Gallarneau of Erie, PA; 9 grandchildren, three brothers, David H. Wise, Jr., and Blaine L. Wise both of Port Allegany, Daniel J. (Kate) Wise of Pittsburgh, PA; two sisters, Lettie M. (Lester) Lapp of Cyclone, Elizabeth H. (Larry) Wise of Akron, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a baby boy, Gabriel McGarvey, in 1977.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later time & date to be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
