Shirley JEWELL

Shirley A. JEWELL, 76, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of East Bangor, died Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.  

She was born September 17, 1946, in Easton.  On November 3, 1966, in Belvidere, NJ, she married Larry W. Jewell, who survives.  A 1964 graduate of Bangor Area High School, she was employed as a secretary by the Boy Scouts of America in Easton for four years.  Shirley and her husband owned and operated Jewell’s Service in East Bangor for 33 years.  She was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 Auxiliary in Ulysses.  Shirley loved her canine companion, Wally Jewell.  

Surviving besides her husband, Larry, are:  a son, Jonathan (Michele) Jewell of East Bangor;  a grandson, Conner Jewell;  a daughter-in-law, Lori A. Jewell of Bangor;  a brother, James (Carol) Heisey of Ft. Pierce, FL;  and a nephew, Michael Heisey.  She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey K. Jewell, on April 28, 2021;  her mother, Margaret Heisey;  and two nephews, Mark Heisey and Christopher Heisey.  

Services will be private.  Memorials may be made to Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 Auxiliary, P.O. Box 125, Ulysses, PA 16948.
