Shari L. TERNES

December 14, 1962 — January 21, 2022

Shari L. TERNES, 59, of Genesee, PA, died Friday, January 21, 2022 in UPMC Hamot, Erie after battling Covid-19/pneumonia for several weeks.

Born December 14, 1962, in Topeka, KS, she was the daughter of Larry J. and Judy L. Garrett Light.  She was a 1981 graduate of Seaman High School in Topeka.  On May 31, 1987, in Topeka, she married Melvin G. “Mel” Ternes, who survives.  Surviving besides her husband, Mel, are:  a sister, Denise Munoz;  six children, Melissa (Ryan) Lampman, Amanda (Jacob) Cline, Abigail (Colby) Thomas, Lydia Ternes, Emily Ternes, and Isaac Ternes;  six grandchildren, Jeremiah Lampman, Isaiah Lampman, Claire Lampman, Colton Lampman, James Thomas, and Felix Cline;  and one grandchild on the way.  She was predeceased by her parents.

Besides the immense care she had for her family, she had numerous relationships she invested in and people she ministered to.  Her hobbies were people, she didn’t have time for much else.  She truly took the command to consider others more significant than yourself to a reality.  Her heart was big.  She filled her days with phone calls to hurting moms and close friends, bringing meals to families, showing up when she just thought you needed a day off.  She poured out love through weekly Bible studies and one-on-ones.  When it wasn’t the adult’s lives she was helping, it was the teenagers.  She was unique, strong, sure; she was someone you could always count on to be there.  She cared so much and for so many.  Her heart was that of a servant.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Shari’s life will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Wellsville Bible Church, 2896 Andover Road, Wellsville, NY.  Rev. William W.
