TURTLEPOINT- Samuel B. Hart, 87, of Route 155, passed away Wednesday (Mar. 23, 2022) in his home, with family by is side.

Born August 18, 1934, in Sterling Run, PA, he was a son of Thomas R. and Augusta C. Connor Hart.  On July 20, 1956, in Port Allegany, he married Reita A. Hammond, who died Nov. 19, 2015. They were married 59 years.

Samuel had employed with G.L. Carlson, Inc. of Turtlepoint, as a lumber scaler, retiring after many years of service.

He was a veteran, having served with the US Army.

Samuel was a former member of the Bradford American Legion, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed horseshoes and playing cards.

Surviving is a son, Samuel B. Hart, Jr. of Turtlepoint; a daughter, Linda S. Lunn of Port Allegany; three grandchildren, Felicia J. (Jim) Kaziska of Port Allegany, Carolyn Tomb of Lewis Run, Clifton Lunn of Turtlepoint; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Byerly of Bradford, Virginia Kellogg of Olean, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Reita, four brothers: Thomas, Victor, Les, and Bradley Hart; and four sisters: Katherine Snyder, Lillian Chiodon, Elva Goff and Connie Baker.

Friends will be received from 6-7 p.m. Friday (Mar. 26, 2022) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with James Kaziska , officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
