Ruth Daley Williams
PORT ALLEGANY- Ruth Daley Williams, 90 formerly of Port Allegany, Lake Alfred, FL, and Coudersport, passed away Sunday (Mar. 7, 2021) in Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.
Born July 27, 1930, she was a daughter of Laverne and Mary E. Carl Lindsey. Ruth married Richard Daley in Port Allegany, in 1947, who died in 1989. She remarried in 1998 to Francis Williams of Lake Alfred, FL, who died in 2011.
Ruth was a dedicated nurse who had worked in Charles Cole Hospital, Coudersport, and later in several nursing homes in Lake Alfred, FL, before her retirement.
Surviving are a son, Michael Daley of Wilmington, VT; three daughters, Barbara Moshier of New York City, Cheryl Jacoby of Limestone, NY, and Patricia Glassmire of Coudersport, PA; four grandchildren: Erin Moshier, Jessica Bless, Michael Gustafson, and Ryan Bartholomew, and several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Laverne Lindsey of Floral City, FL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Richard and Francis, and a sister, Kathleen Huff, who preceded her in death by one day.
A private funeral service will be held for the family with burial following in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service or the S.W. Smith Library, Port Allegany.
