PORT ALLEGANY- Rose M. Tubbs, 84, of Campbell Hollow Rd., passed away Tuesday (Sept. 24, 2024) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

Born October 2, 1939, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Theodore and Vesta Hardes Higley. On Dec. 16, 1961, in Port Allegany, she married Paul C. Tubbs, who died Sept. 29, 2021. They were married 59 years.

Rose was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1957. She graduated from the Continental  Beauty School, Olean NY, and owned & operated her own beauty shop for many years.

She was a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and Free Methodist Church, Port Allegany.

She was co-owner & operator of the Tubbs Greenhouse & Cider Mill with her husband Paul, for many years.

Surviving are two daughters, Denise Renee (Mel) Dibble of Smethport, Lisa Lynn (Patrick) Eaton of Eldred; and five grandchildren: Amanda (Chris) App of Eldred, Amelia Dibble of Dubuque, IL, Clinton Dibble of Smethport, Melissa Dibble of Indiana, PA, Dakota Eaton of Eldred; and two great-grandchildren: Vanek App and Dawsyn App; two sister-in-laws, Carol Higley of Portville, NY, Nancy Higley of Middletown, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, and two brothers, John and Stanton Higley.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 26, 2024) in the Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint, with Bruce Greene, officiating.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
