Rodney R. CORNELL, 70, of Scio, NY, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, NY.
Born November 25, 1947, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Robert and Gertrude Hogan Cornell.
On February 1, 1969, in Scio, he married the former Hazel Hinkle, who survives.
A Vietnam Veteran, he served honorably in Korea with the US Army from 1966 - 1968.
He was employed as a machinist by Butler Larkin and Dresser-Rand.
Surviving besides his wife, Hazel, are: two sons, Robbie (Rhonda) Cornell of Friendship, NY and Dan (Aaron) Cornell of Olean, NY; five grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Katelyn, Dustin, and Jaykob; two brothers, Gary (Luann) Cornell of Belmont, NY and Jeffrey (Debra) Cornell of Wellsville; two sisters, Kathie (Thomas) Walker of Millport, PA and Linda (Gerald) Clark of Andover, NY; a sister-in-law, Luella Culbert of Wellsville; three brothers-in-law, John (Jackie) Hinkle, Jr. of Cuba, NY, Howard L. (Julie) Hinkle of Scio, and Randy (Belinda) Hinkle of Indiana, PA; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Andrew Cornell; and three brothers-in-law, Charles R. Hinkle, Michael R. Hinkle, and Lyle James Hinkle.
Friends may call Monday, June 4, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday in the Genesis Bible Church, Scio, NY. The Rev. Marc Chamberlain will officiate. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio, NY, where Military Rites will be accorded.
