Robert D. Strait, Jr.
TURTLEPOINT- Robert D. Strait, Jr., 59, of Annin Creek Rd., passed away Wednesday (Dec. 27, 2017) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.,
Born July 11, 1958, he was a son of Robert D. and Dorothy Johnson Strait.
Robert was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1976.
He worked on the family farm with his brother and father, located on Annin Creek.
He attended the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany, where he helped with the Youth group for many years.
Robert was on the board of Northern Tier Head Start, a member of Wellsville Sports Boosters, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany, and was involved with McKean County 4H. His favorite pastime was watching football: high school, college or the NFL.
Surviving are his father, Robert, a son, Aaron R. Strait of Buffalo, NY; a granddaughter, Addie Strait; a brother, George A. Strait of Turtlepoint; a sister, Judy E. (Don) Dickerson of Shinglehouse; 5 nephews and 5 nieces that he adored.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Ann Marie Strait.
Friends will be received from 6-8 Monday (Jan. 1, 2018) in the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany, and from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dale Detweiler and Daniel Lindsey, co-officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
Memorials can be made to McKean County 4H or the Birch Grove Mennonite Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
