Richard M. "Dick" SHERWOOD, 89, of Hallsport, NY, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 in his home.
Born August 3, 1929, in Hallsport, he was the son of Milo and Mable Simmons Sherwood.
On July 28, 1951, in Hallsport, he married the former Vivian L. Perkins, who survives.
He was employed by Air Preheater in Wellsville for 32 years. An avid sportsman, he loved to fish and hunt.
Surviving besides his wife, Vivian, are: six children, Sharri (Wendell) Weirich of Wellsville, Timothy R. (Darlene) Sherwood of Hallsport, Randy (Sandy) Sherwood of Bradford, PA, Joan (Donald) Pakis of Hallsport, Fran (Deborah) Sherwood of Campbell, and Christine Coats of Hallsport; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Valda Helmhold, Wilma Robbins, and Beatrice Hazzard; and a son-in-law, Guy Coats.
The family will hold a private service at Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY. The Rev. Tom Kristoffersen will officiate. Burial will be in Hallsport Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
