Wellsville, NY - Richard J. Ryan of Hanover Hill Road passed away on Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. He was born on November 29, 1936 in Wellsville to Arnold and Sylvia Ostrander Ryan. On September 17, 1955 in Brooklyn he married Dolores Catracala who survives him.
Rich served with the U.S. Marine Corps and later was the owner of General Roofing and Heating Company in Wellsville. He was an active man who enjoyed his grandchildren and working in his vegetable garden. Rich was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville.
Survivors include: His wife Dolores; his Mother and step father Angelo and Sylvia D'Ariano of Andover; a son Ion Ryan of Wellsville; grandchildren, Richard Pierce, Rebecca Sanchez, Chyanne Ryan and Courtney Ryan; 2 sisters Patricia Murphy and Cathy Gordiner and a sister in law Cathy Ryan; several nieces and nephews.
Rich was predeceased by his father Arnold Ryan, his daughter Yvonne Ryan and a brother Dave Ryan.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday May 1 at 11:30 am in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Monsignor Vincent Becker will be the Celebrant and memorials in Rich's name may be made to the Immaculate Conception School in Wellsville. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville.
