Reta M. BARLOW

Reta M. BARLOW, 94, of Scio, NY, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in her home.

Born October 5, 1927, in Scio, she was the daughter of Clarence C. and Hazel E. Clark Krusen. On July 25, 1948, in Wellsville, she married George E. “Pee Wee” Barlow, Jr., who predeceased her on April 2, 2020. A graduate of Scio High School, she was employed by Loblaws as a clerk and babysat for many local families. Reta was a past member of the Scio Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She raised Appaloosa horses and enjoyed riding in local horse shows for many years. Reta was very artistic and liked the challenge of word search puzzles. Loved and greatly missed by her family and many friends, she was known for her loving and fun personality.

Surviving are: two children, Greg (Linda Stuck) Barlow of Scio and Gail (Rodney) Nobles of Zephyrhills, FL; three grandchildren, Keith, Kristy, and Karen; eight great-grandchildren, Camilla, Megan, Courtney, Hunter, James, Conner, Gregory, and Josh; three great-great-grandchildren, Cora, Myla, and Amia; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Bradley; a brother, Francis Krusen; and two sisters, Evelyn Allen and Gertrude Buckier.

Cremation was at Olney-Foust Crematory. Services will be private. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio.
