Reita A. Hart
TURTLEPOINT- Reita A. Hart, 80, of Route 155, passed away Thursday (Nov. 19. 2015) in the Buffalo General Hospital, from complications of heart surgery.
Born October 10, 1935, in Troupsburg, NY, she was a daughter of Ephraim F. and Margaret M. Burton Hammond. On July 20, 1956, in Port Allegany, she married Samuel B. Hart, who survives. They were married 59 years.
She was a longtime resident of the area who enjoyed her family, TV soap operas, puzzles, and was an avid card player.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Samuel are a son, Samuel B. Hart, Jr. of Turtlepoint; a daughter, Linda S. (Brian) Lunn of Turtlepoint; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Fred O. (Dorothy) Hammond of Port Allegany, James L. Hammond of Port Mitilda, PA, John M. Hammond of Gold, PA, Donald E. (Linda) Hammond of Williamsport; three sisters, Shirley J. (Fred) Redmond and Sarah M. Hammond both of Port Allegany, Joyce A. (Sam) Moore of Greenville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Franklin Hammond, and a great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received from 4-7:30 p.m. Monday (Nov. 23, 2015) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Terri Niver, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
