Rachel W. (Witt) Lewis

COUDERSPORT- Rachel W. LEWIS, 85, of North West St., passed away Tuesday (Dec. 17, 2024) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.

Born May 4. 1939, in Wooton, KY, she was the daughter of Martha Witt. On May 5, 1962, in Keating Summit, she married Ronald F. Lewis, who died Apr. 30, 1993.

She was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of the Austin High School, class of 1956.

Rachael was a homemaker who spent many hours raising & spending time with her family.

She was a member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to read and walk;  10,000 steps per day if possible.

Surviving is a daughter, Tamra M. Sickler of Coudersport; a son, Michael F. (Michelle) Lewis of Coudersport; five grandchildren: Jackie, Justin & Colby Lewis, Michael Bova, Jr., and Miranda Hester; two brothers, Lonnie P. Witt of Monroe, NC, Paul D. (Leslie) Lingenfelter of North Huntingdon, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, and a son-in-law, Harry C. Sickler.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 21, 2024) with Rv. Bruce Moses, officiating. Burial will be in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau.
