Phyllis was a 1947 graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School and was a former resident of Genesee, PA. She was first employed as a telephone operator for New York Telephone in Wellsville. She later worked for North Main Lumber in Hornell and South Main Lumber in Wellsville. She attended the Belmont First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing card, crossword puzzles, sightseeing and yard sales.
She is survived by 1 son, Frederick (Teresa) Griswold of Hornell, a step-son, Conrad L. Tincher III of Olean, three grandchildren, Jennifer L. Dineen, Brent Tincher and Kelly Tincher, two sisters, Ruth Watson of Olean and Shirley Morey of Hornell, two brothers, Lawrence (Bernice) Watson Sr. and Paul Watson both of Belmont, a sister-in-law, Joan Watson of Belmont as well as several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Esther Watson and Virginia Tillman and two brothers, James and Raymond Watson and three sisters-in-law, Doritha, Joyce and Dorine Watson.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell and Friday from 12 noon to 2:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 17 Schuyler Street in Belmont. The funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm Friday (February 15, 2013) in the funeral home with Pastor Byron Brooks presiding.
