Phyllis A. Baker
PORT ALLEGANY-Phyllis A. Baker, 89, of Oakwood Dr., passed away Thursday (May 12, 2016) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born July 12, 1926, in Bradford, PA, she was a daughter of Theodore and Edith A. Brown Anderson. On Oct. 15, 1955, in Bradford, she married Ralph W. Baker, who died Oct. 20, 2010.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1944.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Allegany Valley Regional Antique Car Club. She was an avid reader, couponer, and yard saler, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Theodore A. (Karen) Baker of Port Allegany, Stephen R. (Greg Hall) Baker of Birmingham, AL; four daughters, Suzanne M. (Terrence) Coard and Barbara J. (Michael) Lindsay both of Port Allegany, Christine A. (Richard) Weimer of Roulette, and Theresa A. (Larry Hults) Bicek of New Port Richey, FL; six grandchildren: Matthew and Daniel Baker, Jeremy and Andrew Skaggs, Annette Stark, and Pvt. Isaac Baker; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth A. Anderson of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph, a brother, Wilbur “Swede” Anderson; and two sisters, Winifred Murphy and Joyce Keltz.
Friends will be received from 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday (May 15, 2016) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
