PORT ALLEGANY- Paul C. Tubbs, 78, of Campbell Hollow Rd., passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday (Sept. 29, 2021) in UPMC Williamsport.
Born December 27, 1942, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Forrest C. and Ruth Moore Tubbs.  On Dec. 16, 1961, in Port Allegany, he married Rose M. Higley, who survives. They were married 59 years.
Paul was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Port Allegany High School, class of 1961. He also attended University of Pittsburgh, Bradford.
He was a self-employed stone mason and carpenter, co-owner of the Tubbs Greenhouse and Tubbs Cider Mill both of Port Allegany. He also owned his own trucking company, before his retirement.
He was a former member of the Free Methodist Church, Port Allegany, where he did extensive remodeling and masonry work while attending the church.
Paul enjoyed Civil War history and was a member of the 42nd Pennsylvania Bucktail Re-enactment Regiment.  He was a member of the Allegany Valley Vintage Car Club and enjoyed showing his antique cars. He also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Rose, are two daughters, Denise R. (Mel) Dibble of Smethport, Lisa L. (Patrick) Eaton of Eldred; five grandchildren: Amanda (Chris) App of Eldred, Amelia Dibble of Platteville, Wisc., Melissa Dibble of Indiana, PA, Clinton Dibble of Smethport, and Dakota Eaton of Eldred; and two great-grandchildren, Dawsyn and Vanek App of Eldred.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Clifford Tubbs.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday (Oct. 4, 2021) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stanton Higley and Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, co-officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint. Friends are encouraged to wear masks at the funeral home.
