Paul J. Tripp
PORT ALLEGANY-Paul J. Tripp, 80, of Pleasant Dr., passed away Saturday (Feb. 11, 2017) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born December 30, 1936, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Albert E. and Florence Sherwood Tripp. On June 26, 1958, in Belfast, NY, he married Deloris E. Stocking, who died Mar. 1, 2005.
Paul was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1954.
He was a veteran having served with the US Air Force.
Mr. Tripp had worked for Pierce Glass Co. and Pittsburgh Corning Co. both of Port Allegany, and most recently with Dresser Manufacturing of Bradford, where he retired after 30 year of service, in 2002
He was a member of the former the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, American Legion, Post 258, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, both of Port Allegany, and was a member of the Winchester Express Family Band.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen P. (Renee) Tripp of Valparaiso, IN, Rodger E. (Lana) Tripp and Jeffrey W. (Wendy) Tripp both of Eldred; two daughters, Cindy S. (Frank) Heslop of Poland, OH, Lorrie A. (Jesse Wright) Achar of Bradford; 13 grandchildren: Chandler, Parker, and Cameron Tripp, Jason Tripp, Aubrey Cook, Andery DeEmilio, Erica Austin, Kelly Wright, Craig and Ryan Tripp, Angel and Jordan Achar, and Jessica Santiago; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Deloris, and a baby sister, Helen Tripp.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 16, 2017) with Rev. Ernest Perry, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Eldred, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
