Parker James SPROUSE, 13, of Gaines, PA, died Friday, March 22, 2019 in Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
Born April 28, 2005, in Elmira, NY, he was the son of Raymond and Jacalyn Prouty Sprouse, Jr.
A homeschool student, he was completing his seventh-grade year. Parker was very social and loved people. He was an active member of the youth group and Sunday school at Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church and Boy Scout Troop #2046 in Middlebury Center. Parker was an enthusiastic reader and had his own library, Parker's Little Free Rain Forest Library, with over 1500 books. He was very compassionate and empathetic, sending get well cards to anyone hurting. His smile and love were like a little light.
Surviving are: his parents of Gaines; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Debra Sprouse of Galeton; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Diane Prouty of Ulysses; aunts, Jeanine (John) Klimek of Mountain Top, Jennifer (Doug) Grant of Galeton; step-aunts, Melissa (Todd) Coolidge of Charlotte, NC, Debra (Dan) Hocking of Athol, ID; cousins, Matthew, Paige, Natalie, and Landon; and step-cousins, Lauren and Anna Marie. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Sydney Isabelle Sprouse; maternal grandmother, Alice E. Prouty; and an aunt, Dede Whitwood.
Friends may call at First Presbyterian Church, Galeton, PA on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Sherry Elliott and the Rev. Thadius Sales will co-officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.
