Otis E. Church
ROULETTE- Otis E. Church, 95, of North Street, passed away Monday (Aug. 5, 2013) in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born February 24, 1918, in Sheridan, NY, he was a son of Albert E. and Ellen Lyman Church. On Jan. 27, 1951, in Sanborn, NY, he married Lucille Knowlton, who survives.
Mr. Church was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of the Roulette High School, Class of 1936.
He was employed by North Penn Gas Co. (now UGI Central PA Gas) for several years, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Church was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, Roulette, Eulalia Lodge 342, F. & A.M., Potter Commandery 69, both of Coudersport, Arnold Chapter 254, of Port Allegany, and Coudersport Consistory.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and traveling. He was also a civil war and railroad enthusiast.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lucille, are two daughters, Karen M. (Jeff) Masors of Pelham, NH, Marsha C. (Lynn) Walker of Meadville, PA; two grandchildren, McKenzie and Rhue Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Irulon Walker and Dawson Walker Hetrick; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Onalee Church Petrie.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 8, 2013) with Rev. Donald Busch, pastor of the Riverside United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lyman Cemetery, Roulette.
A Masonic service will be conducted by Eulalia Lodge 342, at 7 p.m., Wedneday in the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Riverside United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
