CYCLONE- Orlan G. Best, 84, passed away Tuesday (Mar. 17, 2015) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1930, he was a son of Orlo L. and Martha D. Cobler Best.   On June 16, 1951, in Farmers Valley, he married Twila Church, who survives. They were married 64 years.
Orlan was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in active duty for 20 years, and 10 years in the reserves. His last duty was on the USS Albert T. Harris, a destroyer.
He had worked for Airco-Spear Carbon Co. of St. Mary’s and later with the Bradford Hospital as a maintenance supervisor, before retiring.
Mr. Best was a lifetime resident of the area and attended the former Cyclone Community Church.
Surviving are three sons, Kale L. (Gloria) Best and Duane O. Best both of Ridgway, Wade M. (Heather) Best of St. Mary’s; two daughters, T. Lynne (Richard) Feile of Turtlepoint, Bonnie G. (Bob) Wehler of Kersey, PA, 10 granchildren: David (Amanda) and Shelby Best, McKenzie and Sebastian Raybuck, Kerry (Bill) Springle, Shawn Feile, Robbie, Russ (Traci), Mike (Becky) and Dan (Sherry) Wehler; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eloise Coast of Smethport, and Beverly (Dean) Burford of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Scott Feile, and a brother, Kenton Best.
A private funeral and committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lewis Run.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
