Norman D. Huey
PORT ALLEGANY- Norman D. Huey, 79, of N. Main St., passed away Saturday (Sept. 19. 2015) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born February 27, 1936, in Port Allegany, he was a son of E. Leslie and Grace Bliss Huey. On Aug. 8, 1957, in Port Allegany, he married Gloria L. Hills, who survives. They were married 58 years.
Norman was a lifetime resident of the area and was employed by Pierce Glass Co., Port Allegany for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a son, Norman D. (Dorothy) Huey, Jr. of Crosby, PA; four daughters, Paula M. (Michael) Haynes and Virginia M. Huey both of Kane, PA, Yvonne L. (Joseph) Bradford of Port Allegany, Lora D. Huey of Mt. Jewett, PA; a brother, Gerald (Carol) Huey of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Janice (George) Sheerer of Eldred, PA; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Roy, Kenneth, Harold, and Ronald Huey; and a sister, Virginia McElwee.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 24, 2015) in the First Baptist Church of Port Allegany, with Rev. Michael Culver, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
