Wellsville, NY - Norma "June" Angood, 81, of 689 Trapping Brook Road passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born at home on June 1, 1929 in Coudersport, PA the daughter of Josiah C. and Ethel A. (Jacobs) Franke. On April 10, 1948 in Coudersport, PA she married Robert Angood who predeceased her on September 7, 1998.
June was a former resident of Coudersport, Andover and Scio. She was formerly employed as a waitress for Mackie's, The Black Forest and for the Texas Hot all in Coudersport. She was also a nurse's aid for 17 years at the former Potter County Memorial Hospital. June was a charter member of the Coudersport Firemen's Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player who enjoyed playing at many locations in both New York and Pennsylvania. She was a very independent person who loved her children, grandchildren, cooking and family picnics.
Survivors include: a son Dale (Penny) Angood of Wellsville; 4 daughters, Lynda Lanterman and her fiancé Randall Taylor of Jamestown, Robin (Calvin) Morrison of Wellsville, Cindy (John Case) Hinkle of Wellsville and Tammy (Paul) Starr of Baldwinsville; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (Brant) Monroe, Ashley and Christopher Morrison, Brandan Hinkle, Jessica, Nicholas and Aaron Starr; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Leigh Angood and a brother Norman Franke.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. The funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm with Rev. Charles Emerson presiding. Burial will be In Fairlawn Cemetery in Scio. Memorial donations may be made to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps or any charity of the donor's choice.
