Nancy L. Wennerstrom
AUSTIN- Nancy L. Wennerstrom, 79, of Costello Rd., passed away Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2017) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born July 12, 1937, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Arthur Carl and Elin Johnson Wennerstrom.
Nancy was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1955 and from Alfred University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
She worked many years with the VA Hospital in Buffalo, NY, before her retirement.
She was an avid NFL football fan and loved dogs.
Surviving are two nieces, Julie A. (Tom) Jeffers of Austin, Debbie Fowler of Olean, NY; two nephews, Michael (Vicki) Wennerstrom of Mt. Jewett, Scott (Karen) Wennerstrom of Port Allegany; 7 great-nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Richard “Ponch”, Robert and Thomas Wennerstrom.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 28, 2017) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Austin Ambulance or Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
