Myrtle L. SMITH, 85, of the Town of Willing, Wellsville, NY, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 in Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Wellsville, NY after a long illness.
Born December 27, 1932 in the Town of Willing, she was the daughter of Melvin and Marie Pohl Brandes.
Myrt, as she was known, will be remembered for her kind and gentle ways and especially her smile.
Surviving are: her husband of 70 years, Louis C. Smith; four children, Gloria (Paul) Buell of Wellsville, Louis (Marj) Smith, Jr. of Scio, Dale (Barb) Smith of Virginia, and Michael (Laurie) Smith of Wellsville; seven grandchildren, AnnMarie (Michael) Hennessy of Wellsville, Melanie (Michael) Culver of West Virginia, Jason Smith of Andover, Ryan Smith stationed with the US Air Force in South Korea, Julia Smith stationed with the US Air Force in Virginia, Jacob Smith of Virginia, and Emily Smith of Virginia; five great-grandchildren, Dominik (Virginia) Culver, Eric Culver, Nickolas Culver, Brenna Hennessy, and Colleen Hennessy; three sisters, Marette Pace of California, Marcella Graves of Scio, and Margaret (Carl) Cross of Wellsville; a brother, Melvin (June) Brandes, Jr. of Wellsville; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marian. Burial will be in Hallsport Cemetery on a later date.
