Mona M. SILSBY

Mona M. SILSBY, 89, of Harrogate, TN, formerly of Andrews Settlement, PA, died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation, Harrogate with her daughter holding her hand.  

Born July 25, 1933, in Westfield, PA, she was the daughter of Cleo Joseph and Gladys Onolee Houghtaling McCaslin.  On December 24, 1968, in Little Marsh, PA, she married Everett H. Silsby, who predeceased her on February 24, 2016.  She was employed by Galeton Production, Electri-Cord in Westfield, and Herbert Cooper Co. in Genesee.  She also helped with her husband’s trucking and farm work.  Her most treasured role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved holding and doting on babies.  

Surviving are:  two sons, Edgar (Patricia) McCaslin of Lakeland, FL and Stuart E. (Amanda) Silsby of Coudersport, PA;  a daughter, Marie D. (Jeffrey) Williams of New Tazewell, TN;  a step-son, Curtis James (Brenda) Silsby of Sparta, WI;  two step-daughters, Betty Jo Silsby and Susan Schoonover, both of Butler, PA;  19 grandchildren;  many great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Joy (Duane) Stiles of Westfield and Thelma (Norman) Smith of Potter Brook;  nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, Harvey McCaslin, Frederick McCaslin, Lyle McCaslin, Joseph McCaslin, and Erwin McCaslin;  and four sisters, Ila May Smith, Nancy Cook, Candy Dunn, and Ada R. Reynolds.  

Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM.  Rev. Timothy H. Miller will officiate.  

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
