My Farming Father is Called Home
Michael A. WHITESELL, 69, a well-known, loved and respected, lifelong dairy farmer and resident of Wellsville NY, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, April 14, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was a farmer with a passion for the land and his cows. He was committed to a lifestyle of hard work, personal achievements, and determination. He was the foundation of our family and a true definition of a man.
He survived by the love of his life, Candie, whom he married on July 16, 1977. They would have celebrated their 48th anniversary this year. Mike was the proud father of three children and several grandchildren; daughter, Michelynne (Bruce) Riley and their children Kyle, Brayden, and Morgan; a son, Michael (Kate) Whitesell and their children Allie, Evan, and Ripp; and daughter, Michelle (Joe) Brewster and their children Natalie, Joey, Jaice, and Merri. Mike was blessed to have played such a huge role in the lives of so many, above all Brooke Pyer, Christie Allen, Chad Potter, Rachel Nichols, Heidi Good, and Josie Virkus, although he was a role model to many. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Allen & Anna Whitesell.
At our father’s request, there will be no funeral services. A gathering to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at the Whitesville Fire Department, 496 Main Street, Whitesville, NY on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.
