Michael R. MANSFIELD, 63, of Wellsville, NY, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 in his home.
Born February 25, 1953, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of James B. and Aleta M. Youmans Mansfield.
A graduate of Arkport High School, he worked at his father's service station in Hornell for several years and attended the Spartan School of Aeronautics for two years.
He served honorably with the US Air Force from 1976 until 1995, retiring as a MSGT.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Maine and a master's degree in Management in Human Relations from Ebeling Christian University.
After the service, he was employed by Xerox in Henrietta, NY and Webster, NY for over 16 years.
He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic.
Surviving are: his father, James B. Mansfield; two brothers, Donald Mansfield and Thomas (Cindy) Mansfield; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother; and a brother, Richard Mansfield.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
