Merita L. Greenleaf

PORT ALLEGANY- Merita L. Greenleaf, 77, of E. Ransom St., passed away Sunday (Dec. 8, 2024) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1947, in Port Allegany, a daughter of W. Emery and Phyllis Chandler Amell.

Merita was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1966.

She was a member of the Port Allegany Moose Lodge 460.

Surviving are two sons, David W. (Alita) Pratt of Mariette, GA, William L. (Judy) Pratt of Shinglehouse; a daughter, Donna Pratt of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Kathy M. Amell of Eldred; two brothers, E. Gilbert and Keith “Skitter” Amell both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

At Merita’s request there will be no funeral service.  Burial will be convenience of the family.

Memorials can be made to the Port Allegany Moose Lodge 460.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
