Mary L. BROOKS

Mary L. BROOKS, 76, of Westfield, PA, died Friday, April 14, 2023 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.  

Born October 11, 1946, in Cowanesque, she was the daughter of Charles Patrick and Martha May Brown McLaughlin.  On August 28, 1971, in Wellsboro, she married Robert E. Brooks, who survives.  A 1964 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, she was employed by various insurance companies in Rochester, NY.  Returning to Pennsylvania, she was employed by Gridley Insurance in Westfield and Knoxville and last employed by First Citizens National Bank in Ulysses for many years.  Mary was a member of the Harrison Township Ladies Auxiliary and bowling leagues in Westfield.  

Surviving besides her husband, Bob, are:  four sisters, Sandra (Robert) Barriault of Conway, NH, Theresia (James) Franklin of Sayre, Cynthia McLaughlin of Cowanesque, and Susan (Joseph) Hamill of Endicott, NY;  two brothers, John (Lynn) McLaughlin of Cheyenne, WY and Tom (Sonia) McLaughlin of Galveston, TX;  a sister-in-law, Carol McLaughlin of Shamokin Dam;  sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bruce Matis of Elkland;  and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Rudy W. McLaughlin, Charles McLaughlin, and Frank McLaughlin.  

Friends may call Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes and Crematory, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Ed Rodarmel will officiate.  Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
