Marlyn B. Freer
PORT ALLEGANY- Marlyn B. Freer, 85, formerly of Vine St., passed away Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2012) in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA.
Born June 4, 1927, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Harold A. and Ethel Reeves Thoren. On Nov. 29, 1963, in Port Allegany, she married Orion K. Freer, who died July 7, 1993.
Mrs. Freer was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, where she was a member of the Anna Oral Circle. She was also a member of Liberty Grange 1182, and former member of the Star Hose Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a brother, Gene A. Thoren of Angier, NC; 10 nieces and nephews; and S. Gwynn (Gary) Haskins of Coudersport, a niece who looked after her for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orion, and a sister, Lenora C. Thoren Hepner.
Friends will be received from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday (Nov. 30, 2012) in the Switzer Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church or Star Hose Ladies Auxiliary.
