Marilyn J. Slaugenhaupt
PORT ALLEGANY - Marilyn J. Slaugenhaupt, 63, of Route 155, passed away Friday (Dec. 2, 2011) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
Born January 1, 1948, in St. Mary’s, PA, she was a daughter of Roy E. and Hazel E. Cleaveland Wertz. On June 25, 1966, in Eldred, PA, she married Joseph P. Slaugenhaupt, who survives.
Marilyn was a lifetime resident of the area and attended the First Baptist Church, and Port Allegany Alliance Church both of Port Allegany.
She enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards and most craft activities.
Surviving in addition to her husband Joseph, are two daughters, Tammy L. Slaugenhaupt of Port Allegany, Sussie A. (Caleb) Slaugenhaupt Hitt of Marietta, OH; a son, Joseph P. (Tammy) Slaugenhaupt, Jr. of Bradford; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy E. Wertz, Jr. of Roulette, two sisters, Brenda J. Triplett and Joan L. (Ivan) Freer both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and baby sister, Janice Marie Wertz.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 6, 2011) with Rev. Joseph Beckley, and Rev. Michael Culver co-officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred, PA.
