Marie E. MILES, 83, of Coudersport, PA, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 in her home.
Born August 6, 1933, in Newfield, PA, she was the daughter of Chester and Ethel Sarah Sherwood McCaslin.
On October 3, 1952, in Greenwood, NY, she married Ronald E. Miles, who predeceased her on October 18, 1992.
She was employed Anchor Toy in Coudersport, Ruter's Potato Farm, and Truck Lite in Wellsboro.
Marie enjoyed square dancing and sewing. She loved her family and was a neighborhood mother to many children. She was an active member and substitute director of the Ulysses Senior Center.
Surviving are: ten children, Catherine "Midge" Bobbett of Coudersport, Joseph (Annette) Miles of Little Marsh, Pete (Brenda) Miles of Coudersport, Joanne (Scott) Lampman of Coudersport, Sally (Whitey) Brundage of Port Allegany, Tom (Michele) Miles of Meridian, MS, Patricia (Tom Martin) Miles of Coudersport, Bruce (Paige) Miles of Farmers Valley, Greg (Laura) Miles of Milton, and Judy (Jimmer) McCoy of Coudersport; daughter-in-law, Michelle Miles of Knoxville; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Esther (Bill) Chapman of FL, Nancy Barnett of Hallsport, NY, Chester (Rosann) McCaslin of Woodhull, NY, and Clair (Sandra) McCaslin of Arden, NC; longtime friend, Everett C. Saulter of Coudersport; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dale A. Miles; a grandson, Austin Shrawder; a great-granddaughter, Emily Rose Orpet; and nine siblings, Arlene Miller, Beatrice Farrand, Ella Mae Cruz, Elsie Cook, Shirley Cruz, Benjamin McCaslin, Hugh McCaslin, Carroll McCaslin, and Arlouise McCaslin.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday in the Gold Church, 2402 SR 49 W, Gold, PA. The Rev. Frank Mickle and Pastor Harold Kiel will co-officiate. Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery.
