Margaret E. Johnson
PORT ALLEGANY- Margaret E. Johnson, 93, formerly of Ransom St., passed away Sunday (June 12, 2016) in Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.
Born July 21, 1922, in Brookville, she was a daughter of Peter and Twila Reese Abplanalp. On Sept. 15, 1945, in Winchester, VA, she married Verner W. Johnson, who died Mar. 3, 1999.
Margaret was a graduate of Brookville High School, class of 1940.
She was a longtime resident of the area and a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Port Allegany.
Surviving is a son, Richard A. (Sandy) Johnson of Port Allegany; four grandchildren: Brett and Kylie Johnson, Trey (Tina) Johnson, and Christi Campbell; a great-grandson, Trey Johnson, Jr.; and a sister, Ethel Lewis of Emporium.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Verner, and son, Robert W. Johnson.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. J.T. Madison, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Evangelical Covenant Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
