Lynne L. Rees-Lentz
PORT ALLEGANY- Lynne L. Rees-Lentz, 69, of Sartwell Creek Rd., passed away Friday (Sept. 30, 2016) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
Born July 28, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of Gerald G. and Norma Pular Rees. On June 27, 1998, in Burtville, she married Gilbert E. Lentz, Sr. who survives.
Lynne was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1965 and Clarion University in 1969, with a BS in Secondary Education with a major in History.
Mrs. Lentz had been employed with Emporium Specialty Co., Adelphia Cable Co., Coudersport, Connection of Olean, NY, and most recently Empereon Co. of Couder-sport, before her retirement.
Lynne was a member of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Burtville, where she was in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing and was an avid gardener.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Gilbert, are a stepson, Gilbert E. Lentz, Jr. of Olean, NY; a stepdaughter, Marcia M. (Bo) Jaques of St. Mary’s, PA; 4 grandchildren, a brother, Alan G. (Terrie) Rees of Piedmont, SC; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Murphy of Monterey, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Rees, in 1970.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 9, 2016) in the Sartwell Creek Union Church, with Rev. Allen Long and Rev. LaVerne Howard co-officiating. Burial will be in Sartwell Creek Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Sartwell Creek Union Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
