Linda M. Okerlund
PORT ALLEGANY- Linda M. Okerlund, 64, of Berts Dr., passed away Wednesday (Dec. 5, 2018) in Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.
Born August 9, 1954, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Charles E. and Lela M. Wilson Harpster. On June 18, 1977, in Smethport, she married Roger L. Okerlund, who survives.
Mrs. Okerlund was employed with Saint Gobain Container Co., Port Allegany, for several years, retiring in 2004.
Linda was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1972.
She was a member of the East Smethport United Christian Church and the P.M. Saddle Club of Smethport.
Surviving in addition to her husband Roger, are a son, Jason L. (Danielle) Okerlund of Port Allegany; a daughter, Stephanie M. (Travis) Rankin of Port Allegany; three grandchildren: Savannah and Madison Okerlund, and Jackson Rankin; a brother, Charles E. Harpster of Lewis Run, PA; two stepbrothers, Ronald (Judy) Deitz of Port Allegany, Michael (Dina) Deitz of Oralndo, FL; a stepsister, Brenda (Robert) Lowman of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and stepparents Bert and Jeannine Hults who raised her; two grandsons, Wyatt and Levi Rankin, and special aunt, Alberta Treat.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 8, 2018) with Rev. Allen Young, pastor of the East Smethport United Christian Church, and Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, co-officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service or Star Hose Fire Dept.
