Leon J. ORDWAY

Leon J. ORDWAY, 79, of Whitesville, NY, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, NY. Born March 23, 1935, in Mills, PA, he was the son of Louis and Etta Hurlbert Ordway. On March 13, 1954, in Whitesville, he married the former Ethel M. Tracy, who survives. He was employed by Mapes Woodworking in Whitesville for 21 years, Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, and Herbert-Cooper Co. in Genesee, PA. Surviving besides his wife, Ethel, are: five sons, Douglas E. (Theresa) Tracy of Wellsboro, PA, Richie L. (Annie) Ordway of Stannards, NY, Rickie L. (Holly) Ordway, Leonard D. (Karen) Ordway, and Leon J. (Monica) Ordway, Jr., all of Whitesville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Rhodes of Andover, NY; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin Francis Ordway and Charles Ordway. Friends may call at the Federated Church in Harrison Valley, PA on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 PM. Pastor Ed Collins will officiate. Burial will be in North Bingham Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
