Leila J. Fleck

PORT ALLEGANY- Leila J. Fleck, 96, of Green Hollow Rd., passed away Friday (Dec. 3, 2021) in Lakeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

Born February 14, 1925, in Altoona, PA, she was a daughter of Harry M. and Anna Moyer Hicks.  On May 25, 1946, in Tyrone, PA, she married Robert E. Fleck, Sr., who died Mar. 12, 2005.
they were married 58 years.

Leila was a resident of the area for over 45 years, coming from Tyrone, PA.  She attended the Tyrone High School.

She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sinking Valley, PA.

Leila enjoyed bowling for many years and playing card games with her family.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW, Port Allegany.

Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth J. Naylor of Port Allegany; three sons, Robert E. (Sandy) Fleck, Jr. of Wilson City, UT, Harry A. (Jeana) Fleck of Port Allegany, Zane G. Fleck of Stockbridge, GA; 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Cecil (Bill) Bartel of Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, a brother, Daniel Hicks; and 3 sisters, Alice Dudt, Phyllis Weyer, and Marion Miles.

There will be a private visitation in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, and a funeral service on Wednesday (Dec. 8, 2021) in St. John’s Lutheran Church, with burial in the St. John’s Cemetery, Sinking Valley, PA.
