Lawrence Raymond THOMPSON, 74, of West Bingham, PA, died Monday, June 18, 2012 in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY. Born January 7, 1938, in Bingham Township, PA, he was the son of Lawrence C. and Madeline H. Truax Thompson. On January 2, 1962, in Ulysses, PA, married to the former Marjorie White, who survives. A US Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1961 - 1963. He was employed by the former Eberle Tannery in Westfield, PA. Surviving besides his wife, Marjorie, are: his mother, Madeline Vermilyea of Ulysses; four sons, Raymond (Peggy) Thompson of Ulysses, Kenneth (Becky) Thompson of Ulysses, Lawrence C. Thompson of Westfield, and Roy Thompson of Ulysses; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Thompson of Wellsville, NY and H. Gene (Phyllis) Thompson of Ulysses; an uncle, Keith (Jean) Truax of Ulysses; an aunt, Margery Mann of Addison, NY; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Bean; and a great-granddaughter, Nella Lynn Preston. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Ulysses Cemetery. Pastor Harold Kiel will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
