Larry E. ORR

Larry E. ORR, 75, of Gaines, PA, formerly of Pineville, passed Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Williamsport, PA. He was born October 31, 1939, in Lancaster, PA. A US Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1956 - 1958. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kathleen M. Orr. A graduate of Delaware Barber School, he was a self-employed barber for eight years. Larry was employed by General Motors Corp. in Newark, DE and Trenton, NJ for many years, serving as a union representative with UAW Local #731. An avid hunter and fisherman, Larry was a member of the NRA. His trips to Maine were favorite memories. Surviving besides his wife, Kathy, are: three children, Larry (Kristine) Orr, Jr. of Leland, NC, Valerie (William) Hill of Bordentown, NJ, and Travis (Amy) Orr of Gaines; eight grandchildren, Tim, Julia, Myron, Allicia, Conner, Logan, Cadence, and Kindred; a brother, Harold (Catherine) Cook of Gettysburg, PA; a sister, Candy Cook of Lancaster; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Leona; and a sister, Carol Ann Moore. Friends may call at the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Gaines on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon, with Funeral Services following at 12:00 Noon. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Gale Hose Ambulance, Galeton, PA 16922.
