Kathryn L. GILBERT

Kathryn L. GILBERT, 83, of Andover, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. She was born May 12, 1941, in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of the late Sherrill and Olive Wise Sager. On October 7, 1961, in Cornplanter, PA, she married John H. Gilbert, who survives. 

 Kathryn was raised in the Township of Cornplanter, PA, graduating from Oil City Senior High School. She continued her education in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. In 1977, she and John moved to Andover. She was a 47-year member and served on the board of the Jones Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, in addition to managing the Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Club. 

 In addition to her husband of 63 years, John, she is survived by: a son, Bruce (Tammy) Gilbert of VA; a daughter, Brenda (Guy) Milligan of Wellsville; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Switzer of Oil City; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by: a daughter, Debora Westbury in 2022; and two sisters, Sandra Gilbert and Gayle Hockenberry. 

 A memorial service is being planned for a later date, to be held in the First United Methodist Church.
