Karl PAINTNER, 84, of Westfield, PA, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Born March 14, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Karl and Anna Strassberger Paintner. On October 5, 1985, in Westfield, he married the former Louise D’Almeida, who survives. Growing up on a farm on Long Island, at age 14 his family moved to Kingwood Township, NJ, where he farmed his own farm and leased acreage totaling 1000 acres. He was also employed by Cavanaugh Ink, Croton, NJ. Moving to Potter County in 1983, he formed a carpentry partnership with Edwin Kibbe. Karl was a member of Bingham Center Bible Church.
Surviving besides his wife, Louise, are: three sons, Karl Daniel Paintner of Grand Junction, CO, William John (Kathleen) Paintner of Riegelsville, NJ, and Michael Todd (Jenny) Paintner of Genesee; a daughter, Angela Hendershot of Blakeslee; four step-sons, Frank (Michele) Butkiewicz of Crosby, TX, William (Deborah) Butkiewicz of Sussex, NJ, Lucas Butkiewicz of Albemarle, NC, and Floyd (Elvira) Butkiewicz of North Pole, AK; a step-daughter, Amy Butkiewicz of Westfield; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Karl J. Paintner; and an infant brother, Frank Paintner.
Friends may call Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Harold Kiel will officiate.
